We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 "Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, 25 who has set up another deity beside God: cast him, then, cast him into suffering severe!" 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers' 29
