We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 His companion said: “Here is he who was in my charge.” 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray." 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
