Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
