Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
