Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
