Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
