Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
