Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
