Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
