Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
