AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
