Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
