Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
