With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. 47 And the earth! We have stretched it forth beneath; an excellent Spreader are We! 48 And We created pairs of everything that you may contemplate. 49 And so, [O Muhammad, say unto them:] "Flee unto God [from all that is false and evil]! Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him! 50 Do not set up another god with God. I give you a clear warning from Him. 51 Thus there did not come to those before them an apostle but they said: A magician or a mad man. 52 Have they bequeathed it unto each other! Nay! they are a people contumacious. 53 Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame; 54 but keep on exhorting them, for exhortation benefits the believers. 55 I have not created mankind and jinn except to worship Me. 56 I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of all provision, the Lord of all power, the Strong. 58 And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions – so they must not ask Me to hasten. 59 So woe to the unbelievers, for that day of theirs that they are promised. 60
