The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 and the sea swarming, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
