The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the mount 1 and by the Scripture penned 2 on fine parchment; 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
