▼ 52 The Mountain

Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
