The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
