(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
