Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
