(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
