Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
