Thamud denied the warning 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 We are sending the she-camel to them to test them. So watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 40
