(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 Thamud, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
