Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
