Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
