It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided. 16 Is there one who createth like unto one who createth not? Will ye not then be admonished? 17 And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And Allah knoweth that which ye keep secret and that which ye publish. 19 Now those beings that some people invoke beside God cannot create anything, since they themselves are but created: 20 dead, not alive; and are not aware when they shall be raised. 21
