(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
