Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
