Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you make merry? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
