Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
