[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to all [Our] warnings; 23 and said, 'What, shall we follow a mortal, one out of ourselves? Then indeed we should be in error and insanity! 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
