Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
