The warnings also came to Pharaoh's people, 41 they, too, gave the lie to all Our messages: and thereupon We took them to task as only the Almighty, who determines all things, can take to task. 42 Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture? 43 Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?" 44 Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. 45 Nay; the Hour of Doom is their appointed time, and the Hour shall be more calamitous and bitter. 46 Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness. 47 on the Day when they are dragged into the fire on their faces, it will be said to them, "Now feel the touch of Hell!" 48 Verily everything! We have created it by a measure. 49 And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 [They were truly guilty] because all [the evil] that they ever did had been [revealed to them as such] in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom; 52 every action, small or great, is noted down. 53 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light, 54 in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King. 55
