The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
