The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
