The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
