The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
