The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
