The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
