The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
