The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
