The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
