The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
