▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 2 of 3
All that is on earth will perish, 26 Yet the Face of your Lord will abide forever, Majestic and Splendid. 27 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 28 On Him depends all creatures in the heavens and on earth; [and] every day He manifests Himself in yet another [wondrous] way. 29 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 30 [ONE DAY] We shall take you to task, O you sin-laden two! 31 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 32 O you who live in close communion with [evil] invisible beings and humans! If you [think that you] can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, pass beyond them! [But] you cannot pass beyond them, save by a sanction [from God]! 33 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 34 Flames of fire and molten brass will be released against you and you will not be able to protect yourselves. 35 Which of your Lord's powers will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 36 And when heaven is split asunder, and turns crimson like red leather -- 37 Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? 38 For, on that Day, neither man nor jinn will be questioned about his sins. 39 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 40 The sinners shall be known by their mark, and they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet. 41 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 42 This will be the hell which those who are lost in sin [now] call a lie: 43 In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round! 44 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 45

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
