The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And couches raised up. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
