The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 facing one another. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
