The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
