The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And shade extended 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
