The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
